Overnight on Nov. 23, units of the missile forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, carried out a group strike on the positions of the anti-aircraft missile division of the 1490th anti-aircraft missile regiment of the 6th Army of Russia in Kursk Oblast.

“A successful hit on the radar station of the S-400 anti-aircraft missile system was recorded,” the statement reads.

This enemy unit was conducting combat operations in the “ground-to-ground” mode, i.e., hitting ground stationary targets. Such strikes by the Russians mainly affect civilian objects and peaceful residents of settlements in the frontline regions of Ukraine.

The governor of Russia’s Kursk Oblast, Aleksei Smirnov, claimed earlier that Russian air defense forces allegedly shot down two Ukrainian missiles and 27 UAVs over the region overnight on Nov. 23.
